The CIML Qualification Framework is built on internationally recognised standards, reflecting best practices in management, leadership, governance, ethics, and strategic decision-making. Structured across five progressive levels โ Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Mastery โ each with six specialised modules encompassing disciplines from management accounting and business law to forensic management and global strategic leadership.

Assessment Methods
CIML evaluates candidates' theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and leadership capabilities through a comprehensive, balanced assessment framework.
Multiple-choice, short answer, and essay-based questions assessing theoretical understanding and conceptual application across all modules.
Analysis of real-world business scenarios to assess the candidate's practical application of management and leadership knowledge.
Individual or group projects demonstrating decision-making, strategic thinking, and practical management application in context.
Oral presentations and defence of solutions to business challenges, evaluating communication, analytical, and leadership competencies.
For specialist modules โ Forensic Management, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Accounting โ practical simulations are used to test applied skills.
Assessments can be taken once per module per examination period. Re-sit opportunities are available for candidates who do not meet the passing criteria.
Exemptions Policy
CIML acknowledges that many candidates possess relevant academic qualifications, professional certifications, or extensive work experience. Exemption pathways allow eligible candidates to bypass certain modules or levels while maintaining the rigour and credibility of the certification.
Category A
Undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in management, business administration, finance, accounting, logistics, or related fields may qualify for module-level exemptions.
Category B
Recognised global certifications in management, leadership, accounting, project management, or logistics may qualify for module exemptions.
Category C
Candidates with extensive professional experience โ typically 5+ years in relevant management or leadership roles โ may apply for module-level or level-level exemptions.
Submit a formal Exemption Request Form with evidence of prior qualifications or professional experience.
Provide official transcripts, certificates, and/or letters verifying work experience and professional achievements.
The CIML Exemption Committee reviews applications and determines eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates are informed of exemptions granted and any remaining modules required for their chosen level.
Continuous Professional Development
CIML members are required to complete minimum CPD hours annually to maintain membership status and professional certification. CPD ensures that framework graduates remain current with emerging management practices, technology, and evolving global standards โ extending the value of your qualification well beyond completion.
CPD activities include workshops, webinars, conferences, research publications, and mentoring. Completion is mandatory for MCIML and FCIML members and reinforces the professional standing earned through the Qualification Framework.
